Yesterday, after attended colleague’s wedding reception at Buah Batu, Bandung, I was taking a chance to visit Dusun Bambu with friends.
Dusun Bambu is a family leisure park that located in the mountain feet. With the eco-culture concept, this place provide relaxation, education and recreation facilities in one place.
The location is quite far from Bandung city but easy to locate. If we go from Setiabudi area, we just need to go forward, pass through Maja House, Kampung Gajah, Kampung Daun and Vila Istana Bunga. Then, you can follow the direction board and find the entry gate in the right side.
From the parking lot, we can ride a car inside or just take a walk. Feel the fresh air and cold weather.
Yes, unfortunately that day, rain falls over Bandung all day. The weather is very cold and the sky is very cloudy. But, Lembang in ordinary is also cold, indeed.
What amazing is…, there are still mbak-mbak that only use shirt and very very short pants. They must be a wonder woman! :))
At Dusun Bambu, there are several spots like Pasar Khatulistiwa, Cafe Burangrang, Saung Purbasari and Lutung Kasarung.
Pasar Khatulistiwa is a farmer’s market that sell fresh fruits, vegetables and jajanan pasar (snacks). If you want to have a dine, we can go to Cafe Burangrang. We also can order from that cafe while seated in Saung Purbasari or Lutung Kasarung.
In my opinion, Pasar Khatulistiwa at the center of Dusun Bambu is a very great place to gather. The interior is beautifully decorated with warm tone hanging lamp and in the outside there is a mini-playground.
I didn’t enter Cafe Burangrang, but from the outside, the place looks cozy, warm and luxurious. Behind the cafe, there is an open area for activities. That day, there are face painting, archery, engrang and mini-football. The archery looks very interesting! Sadly that the activities registration is only open until 5 pm, so I didn’t have a chance to do it.
Oh FYI, the toilet of this area is very nice, very clean. And from the hand wash basin, you can see trees and mountain. :))
BTW, have I told you that if you order from Cafe Burangrang, you can ask to be seated in Saung Purbasari or Lutung Kasarung?
Saung Purbasari is couple of lesehan huts that surround mini artificial lake. There is a dock in every hut and a bigger dock in the center. From the dock, we can ride a boat and hop to other dock. The bigger dock is used as performance stage. While I was there, they perform an orchestra from one of Bandung orchestra group. Sitting beside the lake, watching for beautiful sunset while listening to great performance in an open area, what could you ask for more? :)
Yesterday, the Lutung Kasarung area is still not open for public, but this place is very interesting. Lutung Kasarung is a tree house with a shape of a bird nest. Will be a romantic dinner place for couple for sure!
That’s all that I’ve visited yesterday.
Actually this place is still under development and not have a grand opening yet. In the near future, this place will open daily (now only on Friday-Sunday), and there will be Kampung Layung, a Sundanese traditional villa for overnight stay. There will also have a camping ground and more educational activities for children, like paddy field, flower garden and eagle camp.
From what I’ve read on the news, it is said that from the total area, only a little is built into this recreational place. The other area will be stayed as bamboo and other plant conservation. They also plan to grow many varieties of bamboo and held 2015 World Bamboo Conference here. (link)
